What is a multi disk screw press?
A multi disk screw press is a continuous sludge dewatering system. A slow-turning screw runs through a drum made of alternating fixed and moving disks. As the screw carries flocculated sludge forward, pressure builds and water escapes through the gaps between the disks.
What dry solids does a multi disk screw press achieve?
Typically 20–22% outlet dry solids from inlet sludge of 0.2–5% dry solids, depending on sludge type and polymer dosing. For higher dryness, it is paired with one of our sludge drying solutions.
How is it different from a belt press or centrifuge?
Unlike a belt press, it has no filter cloth to wash or replace. Unlike a centrifuge, it runs at low speed with far lower power draw and wear. The moving disks keep the gaps clean, so it runs continuously with minimal operator attention.
